Both Twitter and Facebook have continued their push into TV-like content this week, with new announcements on programming which will further expand their efforts.
Earlier this week, Facebook and the NFL announced a new partnership that will see Facebook granted distribution rights for official NFL video, including game recaps and official highlights.
Facebook won’t be airing full games on their platform, but they will be able to broadcast videos and recaps, as well as NFL-created programs, which will be ‘uniquely packaged’ for Facebook.

You’re not alone – in a recent post, marketing expert Jay Baer noted that the average engagement rate for brands on Twitter is now 0.049%. That’s lower than the average banner ad click-through (0.5%).
Of course, Twitter’s never been a great driver of traffic. Last year, Parse.ly reported that Twitter paled in comparison to Facebook or Google as a traffic source, even being beaten out by Yahoo!

Report: Instagram Set To Have More Advertisers Than Twitter By 2017
In more bad news for the beleaguered Twitter, its Facebook-owned competitor Instagram is set to overtake it as the more favoured ad platform says a new report out of the US.
Market research firm Emarketer has predicted a huge jump in the number of brands in the US that will use Instagram as an advertising vehicle.
