Honeyweb Staff Introductions: Steven Hamilton

Steven Hamilton (Managing Director of Honeyweb Online Marketing Solutions)

Steven is an ex AFL/SANFL professional footballer, having played for the North Melbourne Kangaroos and the North Adelaide Roosters. He played in the successful North Adelaide premiership team in 1991.

Due to injuries, Steven decided to retire from professional football and concentrate on a career in design, illustration and sales.

It was during this time Steven discovered a little thing called the Internet. Instantly seeing its potential, he quickly joined Global Internet Directories as a sales agent and soon excelled, winning the “Australasian Sales Achievement Award for 1997.”

With Steven’s design background, it soon became apparent the majority of websites were being designed by computer experts and lacked the professional appearance produced in traditional media. It was time for this to change, and Steven most certainly achieved this.

Establishing his first online marketing agency in 1998, and Honeyweb PTY LTD in July 2007, Steven has nearly 20 years' experience developing successful online marketing solutions for well over 500 clients.

Two-Thirds Of Global Ad Spend in 2016 Was Still Offline (And Why We’re Witnessing The Rise Of Snapchat)

One of the planet’s top tech sharemarket watchers, Mark Mahaney, has told a conference in the US that although the likes of Facebook and Google will continue to soak-up advertising dollars, 66 per cent of current global ad spend actually remains offline (that’s TV, print, Radio and the likes).

Mahaney, who is the MD of the Canadian-based RBC Capital, was speaking about Facebook’s future at the Business Insider’s Ignition conference in New York last week.

It's the holiday season, which means it's the time of year when email inboxes seem ready to burst with email. As I sit here writing this on Cyber Monday I can practically hear my email accounts groaning under the volume. And why not? Email marketing continues to be the best marketing tool for keeping customers engaged and spending money with your company. As we come to the end of 2016, we look back and think about how busy it's been in the email space.

Zeta Interactive bought Acxiom Impact. Experian announced it was looking for a buyer of its marketing services (email) unit. There were senior management changes at Epsilon and MessageGears, as well as continued growth of the new European providers like Selligent, Emarsys, and Adestra. All these changes and then some could take up several pages of text, but that's not what we're here for right now because the holiday season is also when we traditionally come up with our "10 most engaging emails of the year" list. Faithful readers will recall that earlier this year we wrote about the five most engaging email campaigns of the year up to that point. Now we return to singling out specific emails to share with you.
