Instagram Rolls Out New Direct Message Tools, Including Remix and Replay Controls
After announcing their direct message photo remix tools back in August, Instagram has confirmed that the new option is now being rolled out to all users.
In addition, users will also have the ability to send a split-screen reply with the sent image by tapping on the sticker.
Instagram has also announced a new function, which relates to another of their Snapchat-like tools in DMs.

Google Is Updating Google Trends with More Data Filters and Tools
Google Trends can be a great source of insights to help guide your content strategy and understand which subjects are gaining momentum online.
And now, Google is adding some new tricks to the Trends application, providing additional insights based on more specific search behaviors around each topic.
To use the new filter options, you first search Google Trends as normal, entering in your search term/s and, where applicable, choosing the right match from the autocomplete suggestions.

Facebook’s Working on a Way to Automatically Animate Your Profile Image – and it’s a Little Weird
Facebook is working on a new way to animate still images, with a focus on providing new, reactive images on profiles.
The process utilizes a range of advanced computer vision techniques in order to ‘bring a still portrait to life, making it feel as if the person is breathing’.
The inspiration, Facebook says, is Harry Potter-style animated images. But the results are slightly creepy.
